A Six Sigma Green Belt supports or supervises operating of the Six Sigma Green Belt. The latter work consists in analyzing and resolving problems with quality and it is also engaged in projects which are designed for improving the quality. A Green Belt is a person who not only undergoes minimum three-year-work experience, but also he or she is eager to apply openly his or her knowledge about Six Sigma tools and processes.
There are four steps, ranging from understanding requirenments to applying for the certification, in order to receive this document. First and foremost, The Six Sigma Green Belt demands three-year work experience in at least one area, including its organizational goals, standards and design of the organization, project management, planning tools, team dynamics, Six Sigma measure, data analysis and so on.
It is worth noticing that the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification does not reguire the Six Sigma Green Belt.
Apart from above-mentioned requirements, a candidate is obliged to pass an written exam which covers multiple choice questions. These questions are created with a view to checking ability of understanding and making use of work experience in the various task, so-called The Body of Knowledge. As far as time and space of the examination is concerned, it takes 4 hours and takes place twice per year, namely in June and December and are conducted by ASQ sections and international organizations.As for the language, only the English version is available. All examinations belong to the open-book ones. Moreover, each person have to take his or her own reference materials. Applicants are provided with the seating letter that explains the usage of reference materials and calculators.
However, it is essential to underline that current technology, policies and changing dynamics of manufacturing and service industries influence the Body of Knowledge for the Cetification. As a consequence, up-to-date versions of the examination are presented at each offering.
